Bristol Sound & Vision 2017

It’s coming up to the time of year when the British audio enthusiast goes west, unless he’s in Cornwall of course. The Bristol show is just over three weeks away and promises to be packed with new audio goodies to see, touch and hear. 2017 marks Sound & Vision’s 30th anniversary and the organiser is celebrating with a suitably Bristolian giveaway, Audio T  has a free prize draw to win one of three Massive Attack signature Rega RP1 turntables and a copy of Mezzanine on vinyl. Students can also claim a pair of Fostex in-ear phones worth £19.99. Alongside the hardware will be new and used vinyl, on and offline publishers and enthusiastic manufacturers from across the country and beyond. Below are a selection of the new products that will be on demonstration at the event, hope to see you there.

Leema Acoustics Sirius Music Server

Leema is to show the Sirius streamer/music server alongside the Quasar streaming amp/DAC and Tucana II Anniversary Edition amp.

Naim is bringing the beautifully formed new Uniti range for you to fondle, just don’t leave any fingerprints!

BCD 3 Wood Surface Front with cases

PMC will be demonstrating the new Bryston BCD-3 CD player and announcing distribution of AVM electronics from Germany.

Townshend Audio now has piano isolators for grand pianos that are shaking things up in the classical world and will be showing these alongside their fine isolation products for audio.

Auralic Polaris

Auralic has the new Polaris wireless streaming amplifier in action.

MFA QSE 404 2 b

Music First will be bringing along two Nagra reel to reel tape recorders as a source for their Quad Special Edition preamplifier, Quad 405 power amp and Chartwell LS3/5a system.

Rega has a new Brio integrated amp to show off and a book about the company and its design philosophy.

Q-Acoustics most ambitious design to date, the Concept 500, will be on dem for the first time, quite possibly with QED’s new Supremus speaker cable.

AE1 Active Black

Acoustic Energy has three new models including an active version of the AE1 monitor.

Chord Blu Mk.II Top plate

Chord Electronics will have their new Blu MkII CD transport, Hugo 2 portable DAC and Poly streaming module for Mojo.

Arcam will playing MQA from Tidal on the new rPlay streamer may even spin some vinyl on the rPhono phono stage via the mighty AV860 preamp/processor.

Exposure XM

Exposure will debut its XM series electronics.

The 30th Anniversary Sound & Vision Bristol Show will take place at the Bristol Marriot from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th February. Opening hours are 10am to 5pm.
