Slovakian tube electronics specialist Canor has a new range topping CD player/DAC. The substantial CD 1.10 has been built to match Canor’s top end amplifiers and has a matching LED display in eye catching and highly legible orange, without this you might mistake it for an amplifier because the disc drawer is so discreet. But press the right button and it slides out of bearing supported rails.
The CD 1.10 has both single ended and fully balanced outputs thanks to twin 24/192 DAC chips, it also fetures a vacuum diode power supply that is said to be an upgrade over that found in the company’s CD2 model. Inputs include S/PDIF and USB and there are two digital filters to choose from via the front panel. The CD 1.10 will retail for approximately £4,000 but final production units have yet to reach these shores.
