A new apprentice

Kevin Edwards of Talk Electronics has introduced a new integrated amplifier in his Edwards Audio range. The Apprentice IA50W is a 50 watt per channel, British made amplifier for those on a budget. It retails for £400, which by my calculations, makes it the least expensive example of its type. It differs from its predecessor the IA1 by virtue of a complete overhaul according to Edwards, this includes an active rather than passive preamp section and RF filtering. The output stage is a fully discrete bi-polar type and by all accounts it looks like good value.
