Rogers PM510 S3 loudspeakers
Handmade in the UK and engineered without compromise, the Rogers PM510 S3 is the culmination of a true labour of love. It represents the pinnacle of our design philosophy—where precision engineering meets musical emotion. A true statement product, it is created for those who seek not just sound, but an unforgettable listening experience that endures long after the final note.
The PM510 S3 reveals its full character in a dedicated listening environment, where its scale, presence, and performance can be fully appreciated. For this reason, it is available exclusively through selected specialist retailers, offering carefully curated demonstration facilities.
In keeping with its exceptional nature, the PM510 S3 is not offered as a “click-and-buy” product and will not be available through online sales channels. We invite you instead to visit an authorised retailer, where you can hear the PM510 S3 in person. The new PM510 S3 is an updated version of the PM510 S2 that was last manufactured back in the 90s.
Essentially the PM510 S3 is a passive version of the Active LS5/8 Grade one BBC studio monitor. So back in the day you would see a lot of the BBC studios using LS5/8s made by Rogers.
The new version uses an updated 12 inch bass unit, the polypropylene cone has be upgraded to a PVC cone, which is stiffer and gives a cleaner bass response, the voice coil have been changed to copper clad aluminium wire to reduce the mass and increase the DCR. Reducing the mass improves the transient response and increasing the DCR makes an easier load for the amplifier. The woofer in made in UK by Volt.
The tweeter is based on the original BBC Audax HD34, but we have again updated the voice coil to copper clad aluminium for the same reasons as the woofer. The crossover has been revised and updated with wax dipped iron dust cores, wax dipping prevents the coils for vibrating under dynamic conditions and the dust iron cores are lower distortion than the standard ferrite type. Hard wired on separate LF/HF boards.
All signal path capacitors are Audyn Film caps with 600v rating. Cabinet construction is true to BBC specification and hand made in UK. Finish options are real wood veneer amazaque, olive ash and palisander with a high gloss option and optional stand. The stand has a 5 degree back tilt to throw up the sound stage. Pricing for standard finish starts at £16,999, matching stand £1,499.
