Each of the evening’s two slots will feature a duo of fascinating and charismatic speakers with a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. Tony Cousins, mastering engineer, Metropolis Studios and Antoine Furbur, sales director, MBL, Berlin, Germany
Together, they will explore the rise in the popularity of music streaming and discuss how this might affect both mastering decisions and hi-fi design, in order to ensure the best possible listening experience. Their talks will be ‘illustrated’ with music from a superb high-end MBL system.
Tony Cousins is a renowned British mastering engineer with more than 40 years’ experience. He began his career as a musician and became a cutting engineer at Townhouse Studio in 1980. In 1993, he co-founded Metropolis Mastering in London alongside Ian Cooper and Tim Young. Throughout his career, Tony has worked with high calibre artists including Adele, Elton John, Massive Attack, The Rolling Stones and Peter Gabriel. His goal in mastering is to preserve the integrity of the music while also enhancing it.
Antoine Furbur is a seasoned figure in the high-end audio industry, currently serving as the sales director at MBL, the renowned German manufacturer known for its pioneering omnidirectional Radialstrahler loudspeakers – which feature a spherical, 360°, pulsating sound wave construction that remains unique in the world – as well as their superbly-crafted high-fidelity audio electronics.
Antoine will present the celebrated Radialstrahler 101 E MKII omnidirectional loudspeakers, powered by MBL’s own Noble Line electronics including the brand’s latest product release, the already multi-award winning C41 network player, incorporating streamer, DAC and preamplifier.
