London Decca Reference Type II cartridge
London Decca are pleased to announce the release of their new Reference type II cartridge. Based on the classic Decca positive scanning design, the new Reference type II calls into use new and updated materials. These are:
Soft iron stylus holder for improved tracking and bass response.
Alnico 5 magnets for improved dynamics
Gold plated Radio metal 4550 lateral poles for extended high frequency response
Solid silver connection pins for optimum signal transfer
Made in UK
Formed from tempered spring steel, the armature is held in positive tension by a fine retaining cord. This configuration gives an instantaneous response without any cantilever haze prevalent in traditional cartridges. Two vertical coils pick up the vertical modulation to complete the classic three-coil sum/difference circuit.
“It’s very exciting to be upholding and John Wright’s legacy with the famous London Decca brand and to enhance the products by making use of the latest technology”, said the company’s Andy Whittle. We are most grateful for his continued input into continued research and development.”
