dCS MCD 16 multichannel DAC
dCS is pleased to announce the MCD 16, a 16-channel Digital-to-Analogue converter built on eight individual Ring DAC circuits, representing the company’s first dedicated multichannel converter.
The MCD 16 is not a departure from dCS principles but an extension of them: the same discrete Ring DAC architecture that defines the company’s stereo products, now applied across sixteen independent channels.Â
The product will make its public debut at High End Vienna 2026 (4–7 June) courtesy of Audio Reference GmbH, where dCS will be part of a joint immersive audio demonstration alongside Trinnov Audio and Perlisten Audio at the show. The demonstration has been conceived as a fully controlled listening environment where every element of the signal chain, from decoding and conversion to loudspeaker behaviour and spatial rendering, operates with precision and consistency.
The result is a large-scale 15.8.8 immersive audio system engineered not simply to impress, but to reveal immersive music reproduction with exceptional stability, coherence, and realism.
Grammy award-winning producer Justin Gray to host exclusive sessions throughout the show, the room will host a series of daily demonstration sessions led by Grammy Award-winning producer Justin Gray. Recognised for his work at the forefront of immersive music production, Gray will present and deconstruct selected material in the format for which it was created, offering attendees rare insight into both the creative intent and the technical realities of immersive audio at its best.
Sessions will be ticketed and available to all High End Vienna 2026 attendees.

The MCD 16 is anticipated to ship in Autumn 2026. Pricing and full technical specifications will be confirmed closer to availability. Press enquiries and review requests are welcome from this point; units will be allocated in due course.
