Zeiler Audio at the Museum of Design Zurich
From 22 May to 20 September 2026, the Museum of Design in Zurich will present the exhibition Pling! Sound and Design. The exhibition explores how sound, design, architecture and research inter- act, and the role that listening plays in our designed environment. The high-end audio system by Swiss manufacturer Zeiler Audio will be part of the exhibition in a specially conceived Listening Room.
A listening room in the museum
At the centre is a 40 m2 Listening Room built for Zeiler Audio. It forms the conclusion of the exhibition and is entirely dedicated to the focused listening experience. Here, high-end audio is understood as part of design, space, materiality and perception. Visitors can discover how listening to selected music and sound examples serves the audio developer as a reference for the development of audio components. They experience how precision, spatial imaging, dynamics and emotional presence become an intense listening experience. It is about what remains when a system disappears and only the music is present in the room. In addition to the daily exhibition, Listening Sessions with different musical focuses will take place on four evenings.
Zeiler Audio
Zeiler Audio is a Swiss manufacturer of high-end audio systems known for both their musical qualities and their design. All products are developed and manufactured 100% in Switzerland. At the core is the ability to reproduce music as it was recorded: precise in imaging, natural in dynamics and emotionally immediate. The products are created from a deep understanding of acoustics, circuit design and materi- al selection. The housings and forms were developed together with Fond Design, a Zurich-based design studio that has given the brand a clear, minimalist visual language. Multiple awards in the audio sector, a renowned international design award and the invitation from the Museum of Design Zurich reflect an uncompromising ambition: music and design at the highest level.
Listening sessions
Four accompanying listening sessions with Ralf Zeiler and selected guests offer immersive listening experiences of Electronic Music, Jazz, Contemporary Classical Music, Ambient & Drone. The evening events require registration via the museum’s website. Independently of these sessions, the Zeiler Audio system can be heard in the exhibition during regular opening hours.
