Grimm Audio joins JPlay

The new JPlay 1.4.3 update, available now on the App Store, introduces UPnP Eventing support – enabling full bidirectional control between JPlay and the Grimm Audio MU1 and MU2 music players.

JPlay is proud to announce that Grimm Audio has joined the JPlay Certified partner program. The Dutch manufacturer’s acclaimed MU1 and MU2 music players have been fully tested for stability, compatibility, and performance with the JPlay app – guaranteeing seamless integration and the highest sound quality.

The certification arrives together with a significant technical milestone. JPlay 1.4.3, available now on the App Store, adds support for UPnP Eventing – developed in close collaboration with the Grimm Audio team. As a result, the Grimm Audio MU1 and MU2 can now be controlled by JPlay bidirectionally: you can start and stop the MU1/MU2 from JPlay, but also start and stop JPlay from the player itself – via its main knob, IR remote, and other controls. Both devices always stay perfectly in sync.

Eventing is enabled by default in JPlay for Grimm Audio devices, so MU1 and MU2 owners get the full experience out of the box – no configuration required.

“Working with the Grimm Audio team has been a pleasure – they care about the details the way we do. With Eventing in place, the MU1 and MU2 and JPlay now behave as one integrated system, whichever way you prefer to control your music,” said Marcin Ostapowicz, founder of JPlay.

“We love to offer our customers a rich user experience and so we are thrilled that JPlay now offers full integration with the MU1 and MU2. JPlay is without doubt one of the finest hi-fi apps on the market and it’s great that it became a natural extension of our products,” said Eelco Grimm of Grimm Audio.

Beyond Eventing, the 1.4.3 update also brings Direct Disk Playback for HQPlayer and MinimServer setups, improved HQPlayer playback, new Queue Radio modes, and a range of bug fixes and performance improvements. The update is available now as a free download for existing users on the App Store.
