Børresen Center3 centre channel speaker
Audio Group Denmark announces the Børresen Center3, the company’s first loud- speaker designed specifically for the centre channel. Created to deliver the precision, transparency, and realism associated with Børresen designs, Center3 brings dedicat- ed high-end performance to the heart of a home-theatre system.
In modern film and television soundtracks, 60-80% of spoken dialogue is reproduced by the centre channel, making it a critical component for clarity and intelligibility. The Børresen Center3 was developed to ensure that voices remain natural, articulate, and firmly anchored to the screen, even during complex scenes with powerful music and dynamic effects.
Designed and handcrafted in Denmark, Center3 combines advanced driver technol- ogy, a refined crossover network, and a resonance-controlled cabinet structure to deliver high transparency and tonal coherence across the front soundstage.
Developed through close collaboration between Michael Børresen and Flemming Erik Rasmussen, the loudspeaker balances acoustic performance with understated design, allowing it to integrate naturally into modern living spaces while maintain- ing the engineering standards expected from Børresen. With Center3, Børresen applies its sound reproduction approach to the home-theatre environment.
With the Center3, restraint became the guiding principle. It wasn’t about pushing scale or chasing extremes, but about getting the fundamentals exactly right for a very specific role. Every decision had to justify itself-sonically as well as visually. That discipline defined the project. Michael Børresen, CTO, Audio Group Denmark.
Key technologies
Børresen dcc5 neo midwoofers
Advanced 5-inch midwoofers use a three-layer composite diaphragm with a Nomex honeycomb core sandwiched between carbon-fiber skins, achieving high stiffness while maintaining extremely low moving mass. Graphene whiskers integrated into the cone structure push resonances beyond the driver’s operating range.
Børresen RP-94 ribbon tweeter
The same ribbon tweeter used in Børresen’s higher-tier loudspeakers features an aluminium-coated membrane weighing only 0.01 grams, enabling fast transient response and detailed high-frequency reproduction.
Serial crossover topology
Unlike conventional parallel crossovers, Børresen employs a serial crossover network, allowing phase-locked electrical current through the drivers within the crossover region. This results in improved coherence and a more unified acoustic presentation.
Advanced cabinet construction
The enclosure is built from thick hardwood laminates with block-milled internal supports that increase structural stiffness and suppress unwanted resonances. Separate acoustic chambers allow each driver to operate with minimal interference.
Mechanical grounding
A dedicated cradle system with Ansuz Darkz Feet provides mechanical stability and controlled vibration management while allowing precise angular alignment of the centre loudspeaker.
Center3 MSRP: €6.000/USD $7,000
