Bowers & Wilkins have created their most ambitious wireless headphone yet in the Px8. Essentially an upgraded version of the recently announced Px7 S2 the new design offers aptX Bluetooth wireless connection and DSP developed in house with 24 bit resolution.
40mm drive units are made of carbon fibre and resin and angled toward the ears rather like speakers can be toed in to face the listener. The frame is made of diecast aluminium and black or tan Nappa leather trimmed memory foam cushions the ears for a sumptuous listening experience. The Px8 offers up to 30dB of noise cancellation and has full app control alongside mappable buttons on the earcup. Px8 doesn’t try to break battery life records but opts for 30 hours with a fast recharge option giving seven hours from a 15 minute charge.
Bowers & Wilkins Music app allows users to stream directly to the Px8 from Qobuz, Deezer and Tidal and for the fully equipped it’s possible to switch between these headphones and a wireless home system from the same brand. The Music app also offers EQ adjustment and variable noise cancellation. The Px8 is available now for £599 / €699 / $699.
