Custom Design CDASP3 speaker cabinet
A concept design since 2015, the Intra Specific isolation Speaker cabinet became reality in 2021 and was first revealed as an aluminium version at the Munich High End Show 2023, which provoked a little reaction, only those with insight into speaker cabinet design showed any interest.
At the Munich high End show 2024, after several discussions with speaker designers the concept speaker cabinet became the Inert steel speaker cabinet with the final prototype CDASP3 shown in the image above. The previous prototype CDASP2 had been scanned by Karl-Heinz Fink and the Fink Team in Germany to reveal a huge benefit in the mid to high end over the traditional method of speaker cabinet build. But as the photograph shows there was an abnormal peak of resonance at 400hz. After several discussions with Karl-Heinz Fink, his advice was to provide additional dampening and bracing to the cabinet, and just as he said it would, the bass frequency just became warmer and deeper, completing the triple benefit. The CDASP3 has an initial mass 18kg per cabinet with 6mm steel walls. The Custom Design Intra Specific Isolation technology is designed and manufactured exclusively by Custom Design. Intra Specific Isolation systems provide an Inert compound, thin walled with an initial high mass cabinet, the best of both worlds in speaker cabinet design, 25kg with the drivers and cross-over fitted. The improved bracing of the unique construction provides extra rigidity to the side walls and with even more of the patented polymer resonance absorbing properties, the Inert speaker cabinet casing has been improved further with an overall greater image, clearer picture and detailed vocals with a warmth, depth and inky blackness to the bass frequency and timing. Design, engineering, technology
The Intra Specific Isolation technology Steel Inert Speaker cabinet can be manufactured to the required dimensions. The wall thickness can be increased or decreased to provide the perfect acoustic isolation to compliment specific drive units and volume capacity and can now be manufactured from CR4 steel, aluminium or even stainless steel if necessary. The first production of ISIT Inert speaker cabinet in steel should be in approximately 6 weeks and will be launched under our sister company brand name, Hi-Fi Furniture.
