MotusIIMapleCarbonwithrecord

The STST Motus II is a German turntable which combines direct drive with a suspended subchassis. The Motus II (£4,999.95) is the more interesting of two models Made by Stefan Strohmetz, the Motus uses the same ‘in house’ designed direct drive motor but without the sprung suspension. Both models have a POM platter and are available in a variety of wood veneered plinths with a choice of matching or contrasting top plates, this example features a carbon fibre top plate with maple surround. Each is supplied with a separate small power supply which feeds 18V to the turntable. On board electronics then make 33.33 and 45 RPM available via a small switch located beneath the edge of the plinth. The turntables come with a 10 year guarantee.
STST also manufactures a tonearm called Vertex (£2,799.95) which is available in 9, 10 or 12” lengths. The Motus turntable can be supplied in a larger plinth in order to accommodate 12” tonearms. The Motus II is generally supplied to take 9 and 10” tonearms.
The Motus range is distributed in the UK by Puresound www.puresound.info
