Fiio has launched the M11S portable audio player. Alongside its 3.5mm single-ended and 2.5mm/4.4mm balanced headphone outputs, and dedicated line-out, the M11S also offers LDAC, aptX HD, and LHDC Hi-Res Bluetooth connectivity. Further wireless options include support for AirPlay and DLNA streaming.

The M11S (£489 / $499) uses ES9038Q2M DAC chips in a dual configuration and a new-generation amplifier circuit, it supports data rates up to 384kHz/DSD256 and MQA. Equipped with a Qualcom Snapdragon 660 processor the M11S runs on the Android 10 operating system and features a global SRC bypass, meaning music streaming apps such as Tidal, Qobuz and Apple Music can be installed for lossless listening quality.

The M11S offers a 14 hour battery life, 5″ multi-touch HD display, and onboard storage of 32GB plus a micro SD card slot with support for up to 2TB cards. It’s equipped with an innovative headphone amplifier circuit that delivers 670mW (at 32Ω, balanced output), with a low noise floors of 1.9uV.

The M11S can also act as a USB DAC and Bluetooth transmitter/receiver, and is equipped with different listening modes according to the usage scenario, including:
Pure Music Mode: This mode stops all other applications, and focuses solely on music playback in order to maximize sound quality.
Bluetooth Receiving Mode: for connected smartphones and other Bluetooth devices and used as a Bluetooth receiver/amplifier.
USB DAC mode: When connected to a PC/Mac and used as a DAC.
AirPlay mode: To wirelessly receive audio from iPhone/iPad/Mac.
