Audio Pro is launching the A28 multi-room speaker system with a walnut veneer. A Scandinavian, minimalist design style is something that Swedish speaker manufacturer Audio Pro has become known for. The design often means a painted surface in standard colours such as black, white and grey, and it has been quite some time since a surface in wood veneer with visible wood grain has been part of the design.

Jens Henriksen, CCO at Audio Pro explains, “We strongly believe that our Scandinavian, minimalistic style is the recipe for our success. Our aim is to keep our design as clean as possible, without any frills or embellishments. However, we have recently seen a demand in the market for a surface that highlights the wood structure and its beautiful grain and diverse colour scale. We feel that this does not mean that we have to compromise with our minimalist and plain design, but that it can be combined nicely. We have therefore decided to launch one of our very popular speakers, the A28, in a beautiful walnut veneer.”

The A28 speaker is a small but powerful multi-room stereo speaker system that works as well as TV speakers as it does for listening to music. The A28 is launched as an alternative to a soundbar, offering a bigger, wider sound than a smaller soundbar system.

The A28 is a multi-room speaker offering 3 different multi-room systems; Airplay 2, Google Cast and Audio Pro’s own multi-room system. It is an ideal partner for your turntable, TV or games console too.

“Those of us who have been in the industry for a long time often think of wood veneer as something of the past – a design style that you might associate with the 1960s and 70s. But to a generation that has no previous experience of this era, this style may seem new and exciting. And after spending some time working with this material ourselves, we have actually begun to feel that it does not come across as old-fashioned at all, but on the contrary it feels like a high quality material with a somewhat tactile feel thanks to the grain of the wood. It is a tribute to natural materials and their beautiful variation in structure. Now it seems completely fitting that we should be able to offer this finish as well as a smooth, painted surface” says Jens Henriksen.

The Audio Pro A28 will be available at the end of February at a suggested retail price of €650 / $650 / £580.
