Naim’s New Classics

Naim New Classic main

Naim have announced a New Classic range consisting of the NSC 222 streaming preamplifier; an all new iteration of the NAP 250 power amplifier and the NPX 300 power supply upgrade.

The NSC 222 will stream from Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz, Apple Music, a world of internet radio and more, with support for bitrates up to 32bits/284kHz. It has an integrated MM phono stage and headphone and headphone amplifier built into a new look case with a 5.5″ full-colour screen. Control is via the Focal & Naim App, the smart Zigbee remote-control handset (no line of sight required) or via the unit itself: apparently the volume control is illuminated for extra pleasure.

The new sixth-generation NAP 250 power amplifier delivers more power, even better performance, and greater system-matching flexibility than its predecessor it says here.

With 100W per channel and full power regulation it’s claimed to be “a party-proof design”. Enhancements include balanced XLR connections, plus a range of trickle-down technology from Naim’s flagship Statement amplifier, including an eddy-current circuit breaker between the speaker outputs.

The NPX 300 power supply is “an instant upgrade” for the NSC 222 streaming preamplifier. It disables the internal power supply to reduce the noise floor, and provides superior, cleaner power. The Naim Audio NSC 222, NAP 250 and NPX 300 are available to order now with a retail price of £5,700/$8,999/€7.000 each.
