Russ Andrews Accessories is introducing the Network Purifier to filter noise on audio and video streaming systems and provide a cleaner, clearer sound, and better pictures, for an enhanced enjoyment of ethernet-based entertainment.

Using the tried and tested Russ Andrews Minizap technology, the Network Purifier targets the very high frequency noise that is present on typical wired networks. Sources of this noise are unavoidable, as much of it emanates from such common devices as WiFi networks and mobile phones etc. Minizap filters work in the critical 2 to 4GHz region where noise from such devices exists.

The Network Purifier is an in-line device but employs parallel filtering. This means that although it is plugged in to the network, typically between the router or switch and the streamer/endpoint, its passive filtering offers improved performance with no detrimental changes in the overall capacitance and resistance. Designed from the ground up, it features eight separate Minizap filters to condition all eight ethernet conductors on the two RJ45 gigabit sockets – one input and one output. With a 1Gb per second data rate, there is no lag when playing high data rate audio or video content.

“We have designed the Network Purifier in response to the rapid rise of ethernet-based streaming systems and the inherent noise problems that these networks exhibit,” says Russ Andrews, technical director. “When used in a streaming system, whether that is with a very high-end audio endpoint, or a low-cost audio streamer or Apple TV, the benefits of filtering the RF noise from the network are dramatic. And, if used in conjunction with our dedicated RANS-1 network switch, the results are even better. It’s an essential part of a computer-based entertainment system.”

Hand built by the skilled technicians at Russ Andrews’ UK facility, the Network Switch is housed in a purposefully designed, electrically inert, thermoplastic enclosure. It also features a dedicated 4mm grounding socket to enable the unit to be connected to the Russ Andrews Grounding System, if desired.

Using just one Network Purifier, installed near the streamer or endpoint, will make a substantial difference to the audio or video performance. Further benefits can be gained by using multiple units, for example between a NAS storage device and a network switch, or between the router and switch.

The Russ Andrews Network Purifier is available now and comes with a 25-year warranty and a 60 day money back guarantee, allowing customers to try the device in their own system and return for a no quibble refund if not entirely satisfied.

Russ Andrews will be exhibiting at The UK Hi-Fi Show Live from 21st-22nd September, with the Network Purifier receiving its public debut at the show. Russ Andrews Network Purifier £649 inc. VAT
