Triangle Borea BR04 Reference loudspeaker

French loudspeaker brand Triangle says its brand new BR04 was born of the desire to push the limits of the famous BR03, offering even better performance in a compact bookshelf speaker.

Priced at 549€ a pair and officially unveiled today at High End in Munich, the BR04 Triangle is continuing the tradition of offering affordable high performance in the Borea speaker range. The BR04 is said to benefit from several improvements that enhance  low-frequency sound reproduction, while gaining clarity.

Extended response
The BR04 is a two-way bookshelf loudspeaker that can be placed on a dedicated stand or placed on a bookshelf or counter. The 25mm silk dome tweeter combined with a waveguide (Efficient Flow System Technology) ensures precise sound and even sound diffusion.

The 16cm-diameter bass-midrange with a natural cellulose pulp membrane for a warm, realistic reproduction of vocal timbre. The cone profile has been reworked to reduce distortion at high frequencies, for a clearer sound at high volumes. The new Borea BR04 is aimed at rooms ranging from 10 to 40m², delivering rich, detailed sound.

New tubular vent
The BR04 features a new bass-reflex port on the front, optimizing airflow for deep, controlled bass. This reduces turbulence and delivers more accurate sound reproduction. The larger cabinet size extends the frequency response in the bass range from 44 to 22,000 Hz, with a sensitivity of 90db/W. The front port allows the BR04 speaker to be positioned with more flexibility even against a wall without compromising sound quality.

Extended range
Triangle now offers 10 models in the Borea range offering an affordable high performance for both two-channel and home theatre. The BR04 stands out for its high-fidelity reproduction of the timbre of the human voice, thanks to its cellulose pulp driver that offers real intensity to all vocal performances.  It is ideal for both a stereo Hi-Fi installation and a home cinema system.

The BR04 employs new double binding posts with a redesigned crossover architecture, separating mid-bass frequency processing from high frequencies. This configuration allows the speakers to be used in bi-wiring and bi-amplification. This approach guarantees more accurate and faithful sound reproduction. Ideal for audiophiles in search of the finest detail, it offers a sound experience of exceptional purity and precision.

Absorption of parasitic vibrations
The speaker’s Driver Vibration Absorption System is a proprietary to Triangle. Triangle’s exclusive DVAS (Driver Vibration Absorption System) reduces vibrations by cleverly integrating the drivers into the speaker structure. This improves the rigidity of the whole to attenuate any parasitic frequencies. This process attenuates vibrations generated by the movement of the midrange driver. The result: sound reproduction gains in clarity, detail and dynamics.

Drive units
EFS technology is based on a 25 mm silk dome drive unit known for its neutrality, with a phase plug developed specifically to homogenize high- frequency diffusion. This system significantly reduces the directivity regardless of your listening location in the room. The dome is placed inside the partial horn loading, reducing reflections and allowing a clear reproduction of the high frequencies. This transducer is powered by a neodymium motor generating high magnetic power in a compact size. It is coupled to a cooling system, ensuring a better power handling. (*Efficient Flow System)

The Borea range, inherits a lot of innovative technology used in the Esprit Ez , also incorporates a midrange driver with a membrane made out of 100% natural cellulose paper, with no surface treatment. This paper membrane, unique to Triangle, avoids any coloration of the intermediate frequencies, and transposes voices with stunning realism and tonality. In an ongoing pursuit of excellence, the profile of the cone was also redesigned to improve the rigidity and now provides an extended frequency response.

Meticulous Design
The new bookshelf loudspeaker is inspired by the aesthetics of the Borea range, combining elegance, authenticity and a return to natural materials. It is distinguished by six unique finishes: Oak Green, Light Oak Blue, Chestnut, White, Black Ash and Light Oak, allowing it to blend perfectly with any interior style. Fabric grilles with magnetic fastenings add a touch of refinement while protecting the loudspeakers, combining meticulous design and functionality.

Improve set-up
The BR04 loudspeaker features a new dual-function rubber pad system: it effectively dampens vibrations generated by the speaker and reduces unwanted resonances, ensuring greater acoustic clarity. its ingenious design holds the speaker firmly to your speaker stand, whatever model you choose. This added stability prevents any slippage or imbalance, guaranteeing an optimal experience.
