To mark this year’s International Women’s Day, Renaissance is fundraising for the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. WAGGS is the world’s only movement for every girl and any girl and believes that each of them deserves to be the best they can be. It represents over ten million girls and young women in 150 countries and has been an IWD Charity of Choice since 2007. Renaissance is asking for donations to be made on its Just Giving page and is also offering the chance to win a VPI Player turntable worth £1,500.
VPI, has kindly donated a special edition of its Player turntable to help raise awareness of Renaissance’s campaign. VPI has manufactured award-winning turntables and accessories in its New Jersey facility for over 40 years. Building on the foundations of the earlier nomad deck, the player is the second ‘Plug & Play’ turntable from VPI. Like its predecessor, it features a built in phono stage and headphone amplifier (both are enhanced versions of the original design in the Nomad turntable). To complete the package, and get you going directly out of the box, the deck is pre-mounted with the wonderful VPI Shirley MM cartridge (named after company president Mat Weisfeld’s grandmother). Just unpack, plug in, pop on your favourite vinyl and cue up the beautiful gimbal bearing arm and get music to your ears.
Edinburgh based Renaissance is the UK distributor for VPI Industries, Moon by Simaudio, Nordost, and Audiovector (in Scotland). Renaissance’s owner John Carroll says, ‘We are passionate about helping WAGGS as we are inspired by how they support so many girls and young women across the globe. On International Women’s Day, we ask our friends, partners, and the industry to dig deep for such a worthy cause. We hope to raise at least £1,500. And the VPI Player is a prize definitely worth winning – don’t forget to enter the draw.’
